The Marshall County Historical Museum was founded in 1970 by the local historical society and interested citizens. Since its beginning, the museum has been the keeper of Marshall County's treasures and its cultural past, present, and future. The three floors and twenty-two rooms of the museum are filled with artifacts that are indigenous to the area, and donated or loaned by people with local connections.
The building housing the museum was originally built in 1903 as a college dormitory, and now holds the status of being listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Presbyterian Historical Registry.
